Hello Students of Multi-Media

I apologize for not being able to make it to class today. I promise I am not on vacation or not wanting to be here. In fact, I am working to get my CDL license it Rapid City so I can drive the Red Cloud bus.

I am super excited to start this year off well and looking forward to producing really awesome projects.

Well to begin my blog assignment I will be blogging with you all as well. So don't feel like this is just busy work. Blogging is a form of social media and it can show case multi-media.

So class, my name is Viki Rey Eagle. I was born in Deadwood, SD but grew up mainly in Denver, Colorado. I am what they call an "Urban Indian". I graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in International Studies. I am also half Japanese and I am partially fluent. I can understand Japanese for the most part but it's not perfect.  I love sushi, boba tea, Korean food, coffee and most other foods for that matter. I love watching the Daily Show and catching a good film here and there. In particular "The Dark Knight"
However, my biggest passion in life other than education is actually Photography. I love taking photos and I feel like it has the power and beauty to capture peoples lives and tell their story. I will most likely take your photo on Wednesday so please don't be camera shy. It will be fun.
Lastly, I am interested in Multi-Media for the same reasons I love photography. We live in a world where technology is shaping our lives and in general for the past generations technology has been constantly improving. Now whether it is for the best or not is a different discussion. I believe through multi-media we can change how the world processes information. Multi-Media has the ability to enlighten individuals and even educate people. The particular element of multi-media I enjoy is that it has the ability to be global. Anything can be shared online and can be viewed by people around the world within seconds. Therefore, we can connect with others as equals and realize we all have a story to tell. Even in Pine Ridge.
